According to the Directive 2004/18/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, Article 31.1, point b, the University of Copenhagen believes that the Agilent Bravo is a pipetting robot which enable us a high-throughput processing of clinical samples. We already have established our special plasma proteomic sample preparation workflow on an Agilent Bravo instrument in Munich. This pipetting robot owns unique features like high pipetting accuracy, disposable pipetting tips, the possibility of handling small volumes down to 0,5 μl, it avoids cross-contaminations of the samples (which is crucial to clinical samples), full-automation of our special proteomic workflow (because it contains different kinds of workstations within 1 instrument like a Peltier element,heating/shaking positions, place for more than 1 000 disposable pipetting tips, a gripper, 9 different workplaces). Moreover, it allows us the parallel preparation of 100 samples in a very short time by the compact design and the high processing speed. This instrument also fulfils necessary criteria for a real clinical application. This combination of features is necessary for our clinical proteomic workflow and is unique for a pipetting robot. Moreover, Agilent Bravo offers us a discount of nearly 40 % for this product. We already established our special workflow on an Agilent Bravo instrument in Munich and will transfer this technology now to the Clinical Proteomics group in Copenhagen, which allows us the processing of hundreds of samples in a very reproducible way. We will use the Agilent Bravo pipetting robot on a daily basis for several years. The Agilent Bravo is a pipetting robot which enable us a high-throughput processing of clinical samples. This pipetting robot owns unique features like high pipetting accuracy, disposable pipetting tips, handling of small liquid volumes, no cross-contaminations of samples, automation of our special proteomic workflow, which allow us the processing of clinical samples like plasma, blood and saliva.
