By obtaining a Maersk Training Offshore Crane Operator certificate, course participants will have a global understanding of their responsibilities as crane operators giving them the flexibility which accompanies a globally recognizable certification. The Maersk Training OCO Stage 2 Re-Assessment will be conducted in a full mission K-Sim Offshore Crane Simulator or at premises of client.

 



Course Content Candidates will be assessed on their skills as Stage 2 Crane Operators and obtain a Maersk Training Offshore Crane Operator (OCO) Stage 2 Assessment certificate approved by DNV and in compliance with LOLER, BS7121-1 and BS7121-11 standards. The certificate can include API on customer request. The assessment will cover, but not be limited to:
  • Understanding the crane operator’s roles and responsibilities under LOLER, BS7121-1 and BS7121-11 standards.
  • Hand signals and radio communication protocols for controlling crane operations.
  • Knowledge of correct crane maintenance and inspection requirements.
  • Correct response to crane malfunctions, alarms and undesired operational situations. (Practical assessment only).
To be successfully re-assessed according to the Maersk Training OCO Stage 2 Re-Assessment, the candidate must pass:
  • Written exam consisting of 75 questions in categories with a min. pass mark set at 80%.
  • Practical assessment consisting of various categories of deck to deck lifts
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Offshore Crane Operator Stage 2 certificate A fully completed and valid Offshore Crane Operator Stage 2 logbook based on Stage 2 standard workplace task requirements performed within the previous 24 months.

Course Objectives The assessment aims to establish that the candidate has the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfill the role of a Stage 2 Offshore Crane Operator safely and efficiently. Upon successful completion of the Maersk Training OCO Stage 2 Re-Assessment, candidates will receive a certificate allowing them to continue conducting unsupervised in-board (deck to deck lifts) on fixed, floating structures and vessels. The re-assessment is valid for 2 years.
