For research purposes DTU wishes to acquire a Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman microscope (CARS) with SRS. DTU has identified this solution as the only product fulfilling DTUs technical requirements which is the reason for the choice of tender procedure.

For research purposes DTU wishes to acquire a Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman microscope (CARS) with SRS. DTU has identified this solution as the only product fulfilling DTUs technical requirements which is the reason for the choice of tender procedure.

- The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
- absence of competition for technical reasons
The CARS instrument TCS SP8 CARS is uniquely suitable for our applications due to the following:
— Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) module. SRS option will expand system functionality due to non-resonant background free imaging (typical problem in CARS imaging). SHG will high-light 3D imaging of non-centrosymmetric structures such as collagen fibers.
— Video-rate CARS imaging with the usage of galvano-resonant scanners.
— Second Harmonic Generation (SHG) module
— Leica TCS SP8 CARS instrument is able to perform multimodal imaging (CARS, SRS and SHG) multiplying our knowledge about the sample.
— Leica TCS SP8 CARS is user friendly and has fully controlled operation of CARS lasers via the LAS X software. This makes it flexible for a wide range of fundamental sensing and material characterization applications within especially biology, medicine and pharmacy.
— Confocal fluorescence microscopy measurements at multiple laser sources.
— Leica TCS SP8 CARS can be upgraded with super resolution technique STED. With is an extremely important option for us when studying intercellular organelles.
— Leica TCS SP8 CARS SRS is currently the only product available on the market offering a confocal platform with a fully-integrated turnkey CARS-SRS solution.
— Leica Microsystems CMS GmbH is currently the co-exclusive Licensee of the European Patent EP 1 311 813 B9 and the American patent US 6 809 814 B2 from the patentee President and Fellows of Harvard College Cambridge relating to the CARS technology.
