Section II: Object
Acquisition of Stedycon Super-resolution Module
The purchase of the Stedycon will bring a new bioimaging technology to CFIM, STED.
The purchase of the Stedycon will bring a new bioimaging technology to CFIM, STED. STED is a powerful technology that allows the imaging of two different fluorophores with a resolution down to 70 nm x,y. The purchase of the Stedycon will thus broaden the spectrum of technologies allowing users to answer questions that could not be investigated before.
Section IV: Procedure
- The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
- protection of exclusive rights, including intellectual property rights
The Stedycon is designed such that it can be attached to any existing microscope body, existing or new. This feature allows for the customization of the microscope body to the researcher’s needs. Upright and inverted microscopes can be converted to a super-resolution microscope by attaching the Stedycon to a free camera port. Already existing microscope can be recycled to serve a new purpose. With its extremely small footprint of <0.2 m2 it fits on all microscope bodies without the need for extra lab space or rooms full of optical tables. By using our patent-protected beam scanner, alignment on the respective microscope body can be performed via the software.
The Stedycon software is extremely easy to use. One key feature is its web-based functionality. The software runs on a small server on the Stedycon and can be controlled by web browsers such as Firefox or Google Chrome. There is no need to install software on the controlling computer, and compatibility is guaranteed for all platforms, be it Android, PC or Mac. Smartphones and tablets can control the Stedycon.
