Acquisition of a QMS 403 Aëolos Quadro Coupling for TG 209 F1 Libra + ASC for DSC 214 Polyma + Software Updates to Proteus 8
At the Niels Bohr Institute we research and teach within a broad spectrum of physics areas: Astrophysics, Biophysics, eScience, Solid state physics, geophysics, quantum physics and particle physics.
The thermal analysis laboratory at the Niels Bohr Institute already offers the advantage of coupling thermal gravimetric analysis with and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. These capabilities will be further extended to include mass spectroscopy analysis to allow for higher sensitivity and better specificity for chemical compounds. Furthermore, as this capability will increase the experimental productivity an automatic sample changer becomes a necessity.
Section IV: Procedure
- The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
- absence of competition for technical reasons
This purchase constitutes an extension of existing capabilities.
The mass spectrometer will be coupled to an already existing thermal gravimetric analysis coupled to a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer. The existing instruments are a TG 209 F1 Libra® purchased in 2014 and FTIR Perseus and Coupling purchased in 2015 from the same supplier.
The automatic sample changer will be fit in the existing DSC 214 Polyma purchased in 2014 from the same supplier.
Comparison of earlier measured data can be read and evaluated with the Proteus software update.
It is important to emphasize that Netzsch is the only supplier which offers TGA-FTIR-QMS that can be evaluated with ONE software.
