Aarhus.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

The instrument must have the following specifications for successful completion of planned research projects.

1) Fluidic force microscope for sub picolitre delivery and extraction of cell content;

2) High-resolution AFM that allows for imaging in a non-resonance oscillating tip mode without requiring prior tuning of the cantilever resonance, for easy imaging under liquid conditions. High force-control of the tip-sample interactions is necessary at all points for imaging of delicate biological samples non-destructively, while simultaneously obtaining mechanical properties;

3) In order to monitor both small- and large-scale cell dynamics in the future, the system must be able to be upgraded to a very high-speed AFM (up to 10 frames/s) on an inverted optical microscope, while keeping the z range to 8 um;

4) AFM-based scanning electrochemical microscopy for gaining electrochemical/electrical insight into biological species. Simultaneous study of topography and mechanical properties is required along with high force control at all points for non-destructive imaging.
