It is the only system on the market that allows processing of samples in 96-well format. It will improve current proteomic workflows by increasing throughput, data reproducibility at reduced time.

The E220evolution enables multi-sample, batch preparation, capable of processing a wide range of sample types and volumes and may be programmed to process from 1 to 8 samples in a single batch. When workload increases, the E220evolution can be upgraded to an E220 capable of processing 1-96 samples/run or to an LE220 for high-throughput processing without purchasing a new instrument.

Explanation:

Patented Adaptive Focused Acoustics (AFA) technology is exclusively offered by Covaris. Covaris is the sole manufacturer of the E220 evolution focused-ultrasonicator, and as such is the sole distributor in Denmark.

The Covaris E220 evolution plus system is a unique and versatile system for AFA of biological samples for numerous applications, including DNA and chromatin shearing, which are essential for a Genomics platform.

The E220 evolution model allows automated batch processing of up to 8 samples simultaneously, and can be upgraded to a 96-well E220 focused-ultrasonicator for high-throughput processing without the need to purchase a new instrument. We have extensively tested the Covaris AFA technology in a smaller, low-throughput model and are very satisfied with the high efficiency, robustness, and sample-to-sample reproducibility.

The acquisition of an E220 evolution focused-ultrasonicator improve processing times and allow us to process a higher number of samples in a streamlined manner. It will also provide flexibility to the Genomics platform, with the option of upgrading if workload increases in the future.
