Rejsekort and Rejseplan A/S (hereon after called RKRP) runs an electronic ticketing system for travelling by bus, train and metro on behalf of public transport authorities and transport companies in Denmark. RKRP operates two platforms that constitute the national infrastructure with regards to public travel search, travel information and ticketing:

Rejsekort unites all regions and different transport authorities and operators into a common system, which works as both ticket and means of payment. Current date, Rejsekort has more than 3.1 million active travel cards resulting in approximately 10 million journeys and a turnover of around DKK 350 million. a month on behalf of PTAs.

Rejseplanen is one of the Danes' most used services, with over 35 million entered journeys every month and over 1.2 million journey-searches on the busiest days. The Rejseplan API is the foundation for all other search functions, that shows journeys, pricing and ticketing information for all public transport in Denmark.

RKRP has set up strategic themes for the future system; improved availability, ease of use, better customer insight, and cheaper services to RKRPs direct customers. RKRP deliver the national mobility service that public transportation companies can integrate to via API. Our services cover all types of mobility providers that have interest in our services. Hence, it is our goal to be able to handle all commercial products from the transport companies and other mobility providers. Our service could in the future also be extended to neighboring regions such as Northern Germany and the southern part of Sweden.

A customer-centric focus, when delivering our services will be an integral part of the way RKRP will make public transport more attractive to the end-user. This shall ensure a seamless and intuitive support of the publicly available mobility services, covering planning, reservation, ticket purchasing, as well as personalised and proactive traffic notification. Customers shall also be able to use the service as anonymous, and non-digital users shall be presented with a limited range of alternative physical tickets.

We are currently looking into how the market can help us provide an account-based mobility service with limited dependance of physical equipment for check-in and check-out. The approach to modernising the IT-landscape is the main topic for this Market dialogue, which is why we seek inspiration from a broad set of different solutions at the moment there is no planned date for a tender procedure.
