II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) is looking for information about how to structure a possible future tender on Infrared-camera (IR-camera) replacement for Modular Radar System (MRS). The purpose of this request for information is to understand how the best possible tender and contract can be arranged both for DALO and for the suppliers.

The Defence Research Center is a unit under DALO. Among other things, The Defence Research Center perform scientific measurements in both the optical and Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum. On behalf of the Defence Research Center, DALO intends to purchase one Infrared (IR) camera for observation, tracking and visual verification.

The Defence Research Center will replace an older IR-camera in one of its measuring systems. The old camera has been in use for more than 20 year. This has led to limitations in the continued development of the system. Therefor replacing the IR-camera is expected to improve interfacing and visual fidelity enabling the continued modernisation of the system.

The IR-camera will be replacing an older IR-camera mounted at the center of a pan/tilt. The size requirement is thus of paramount importance. Control interfacing and video freed will be run through the pan/tilt. Equally power for the IR-camera will be drawn from the power infrastructure of the pan/tilt. It is the intent that the IR-camera will be interfaced through the MRS Ethernet-based system network.

Prior to the procurement DALO would like to gather information about the current market for IR-cameras.
