38000000 Laboratory, optical and precision equipments (excl. glasses)
II.1.3) Type of contract
Supplies
II.1.4) Short description:

Purchase of 4 Eddy covariance setups for onsite open path CO2 and CH4 flux measurement and processing. (LICOR Biosciences) will be used to increase our data and knowledge on exchange of greenhouse gases for different practice and management practices of organic soils.

The LICOR setup (LI7500DS and LI7700, in combination with the SmartFlux system) is the only open path eddy covariance setup system available on the market offering high frequency CO2 and CH4 (10 Hz) measurements in combination with biometeorological sensors and on-site processing of the measured data, and being able to retrieve this data from the cloud.

II.1.6) Information about lots
This contract is divided into lots: no
II.1.7) Total value of the procurement (excluding VAT)
Value excluding VAT: 472 611.80 EUR
II.2) Description
II.2.3) Place of performance
NUTS code: DK Danmark
Main site or place of performance:

Copenhagen.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

We need to purchase four specific eddy covariance systems for an ongoing research project.

Research problem:

The ReWet project will develop a new calculation tool that improves the determination of specific emission factors for CO2, methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) for Danish lowland soils based on the annual dynamics of gas exchange as a function of the area's hydrology, soil chemistry and vegetation. The model is developed based on frequent automated measurements of greenhouse gases, hydrology and soil water chemistry.

What do we need:

Eddy covariance setup for onsite open path CO2 and CH4 flux measurement and processing (LICOR Biosciences) will be used to increase data and knowledge on exchange of greenhouse gases for different practice and management practices of organic soils.

Section IV: Procedure

IV.1) Description
IV.1.1) Type of procedure
Negotiated procedure without prior publication
  • The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
    • absence of competition for technical reasons
Explanation:

There has been a systematic search for commercially available eddy covariance system offering both open path CO2 and CH4 flux and biometeorological measurements and on-site processing of the measured data.

The LICOR setup (LI7500DS and LI7700 in combination with the Smartflux setup) is the only integrated eddy covariance system with biometeorological sensors and on-site processing of the measured data. This provides us with extremely high frequency data allowing us to analyse the CO2 and CH4 flux measurements of a rewetted agricultural field.

IV.1.3) Information about framework agreement
IV.1.8) Information about the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA)
The procurement is covered by the Government Procurement Agreement: yes
