Acquisition of an Oddesey M
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research is a cutting edge research institute using advanced techniques to understand aspects of protein function and its role in human malignancies. The center houses approximately 200 researches and covers mass spectrometry, imaging, bioinformatics, structural biology and protein production.
We intend to acquire a Odessey M near infared imaging instrument for multipurpose imaging acquisition covering multicolor western blotting, highly quantitative imaging with cMOS camera, multipurpose applications such as imaging of gels, cells, western blots, DNA/RNA gels.
Section IV: Procedure
- The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
- protection of exclusive rights, including intellectual property rights
• Resolution down to 5 µm (vs. max 10µm for other imagers)
• SCMOS detector for highest sensitivity in the visible and near-infrared fluorescence range
• Line scanning technology for a fast scan (vs. point-by-point scanners)
• 6+ log dynamic range in a single acquisition = 4.2 million gray scales or 22-bit of data (vs. 4 logs = 65,000 gray levels = 16 bit)
• In addition to 9 fluorescence channels (and one bioluminescence channel), 8 channels for trans- and epi-illumination measurement included: epi 630, epi 525, epi 470, epi RGB, trans 630, trans 525, trans 470, trans RGB (no other scanner offers that), accordingly only the Odyssey M can also detect and reliably quantify a wide variety of colorimetric assays
• Most versatile instrument in terms of applications:
o Multicolor Western blots (fluorescence (NIR/ VIS), chemiluminescence, colorimetric),
o Protein gels (including Coomassie and silver stains),
o Nucleic acid gels (EtBr, Safe stains and many more),
o protein determination by Bradford/ BCA
o ELISAs and multicolor FLISAs,
o EMSAs/ gel shift assays
o In-Gel Westerns
o Multicolor In-Cell and On-Cell Westerns
o Reporter gene assays (e.g. GFP, luciferase),
o various cell health assays (CellTiter Glo, XTT, Calcein AM, Annexin V-APC, Click-oT EdU assay, etc.)
o Multicolor protein arrays
o Bacterial colony screening
o Tissue sections (multifluorescent and colorimetric (e.g. H&E)).
