Section II: Object
Acquisition of eCO2flux chambers and accessories
The University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479 by the Danish king Christian 1, and today has approximately 39,000 students and 9,000 employees – of whom some 5,000 are researchers – and revenues of DKK 8.4 billion.

8 eCO2flux chambers, along with necessary parts and gas analyzers (CO2 + CH4 and NO2), will be purchased for experimental greenhouse gas monitoring of taller agricultural crops (wheat, triticale, etc.) after the application of glacial rock flour to determine the extent of the carbon sink associated with these applications, and if there are any side effects of applications on other greenhouse gasses that must be accounted for.
Section IV: Procedure
- The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
- absence of competition for technical reasons
The ECO2flux is sufficiently large to contain crops with a height of up to 110 cm. These automated flux chambers are therefore best suited to our research needs, as they are large enough to encompass grain crops, like wheat. As our study is focused on agricultural environments, it is critical that our flux chambers are able to contain the relevant crops. These chambers will allow us to automatically measure fluxes under both dark and light conditions (allowing for continual measurement of both Net Ecosystem Exchange and Ecosystem Respiration and estimation of Gross Ecosystem Photosynthesis). This automatic measuring system will allow us to make measurements consistently on small enough time intervals that we will be able to detect small changes in fluxes over the course of the growing season. The chambers are also constructed to avoid an “open chamber effect” which can cause microclimates in the plots which can negatively impact the accuracy of results.
