Tender for dedicated electron diffractometer.
These tender conditions apply to the contracting authority’s procurement of a dedicated electron diffractometer. UCPH intends to purchase a dedicated electron diffractometer optimized for ease of usage and speed in collection and processing of diffraction data. The instrumentation is intended to complement and supplement in-house X-ray diffraction and will be operated by users with experience in X-ray diffraction, but with no experience in electron microscopy. The purchase is made for a consortium consisting of ca. 30 scientists at UCPH spanning a range of research areas including small molecule inorganic and chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry encompassing interests in excipients such as magnesium stearate, and structural biochemistry encompassing systems belonging to the class of Lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase (LPMO) enzymes.

Additional research areas covered are coordination polymers in one, two, and three dimensions, cyclodextrin host-guest chemistry and gas containing clathrates. Those classes of compounds are typical hosts to volatile molecules making the possibility for making cryo-transfer of samples and cryo-measurements essential for a large fraction of the consortium. Intended applications in geology and environmental science requires measurements on multi-component samples. For these applications serial measurements on multiple crystallites from each sample will be a standard mode of operation. This requires an instrument and software facilitating queueing and unsupervised data collection on multiple crystallites. The procurement procedure will be conducted as an open procedure in accordance with Part II of the Danish Public Procurement Act. The procurement procedure comprises only a tendering phase. These tender conditions describe the procurement procedure and determine the guidelines for the submission of tenders, communications between the tenderers and the contracting authority and information about the procurement procedure in general.
