The Section of Forensic Genetics, Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen is an analysis laboratory conducting case work as a part of the process for incoming cases at Department of Forensic Medicine employing approximately 250 people.

Fluorescent-marked PCR products from the DNA profile analysis in crime cases are separated and detected on Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) instruments.

The instrument must be able to:

1) separate minimum 6 fluorescent colors

2) separate PCR fragments with length

differences < 1 bp

3) 80 – 500 bp

4) have at least 24 capillaries

5) Electrokinetic injection

6) < 1 hour/injection

The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
- absence of competition for technical reasons

Explanation:

Instrument must have a minimum of 24 capillaries and fulfil the requirements below. This is due to our contract with the Danish Police and the agreed dispatch times.
