The Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center, Aarhus University, would like to purchase a high pressure freezing (HPF) system for vitrification of cells and tissues, with a particular focus on sample preparation for high resolution in situ structural biology studies within the fields of neurobiology and microbiology.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

The HPF system must fulfill the following criteria:

1) Small foot print (1160 cm x 79 cm x 128 cm, w/d/h) without external LN2 tank and need for large room volumes for safety reasons

2) Use small amounts of LN2 (maximum 30 liter LN2 pr. day).

3) Compatible with direct integration of existing (customer side) Leica S9E stereo microscope.

4) Documented bare grid HPF compatible with cryo-FIB/SEM workflow.

5) Documented and proven customer track-record for integration of electric stimulation in HPF system.

6) Documented and proven customer track-record for integration of light stimulation in HPF system.

7) Automatic sample transfer to LN2 sample storage after freezing process. Storage dewar should have three separate storage positions holding up to nine different samples.

8) No alcohol and other liquids necessary for synchronisation of pressure and cooling.

Following the notification, a standstill period of 10 calendar days will be held in accordance to paragraph 3 of Act No. 593 of 2 June 2016 on the Danish Act on the Complaints Board for public Procurement. This implies that the Contracting Authority cannot sign the Contract with the winning Tenderer before the standstill period has expired.

In case of complaints about tenders or decisions, e.g. award of contracts covered by Section II or III in the Danish Public Procurement Act must be submitted to the Complaints Board for Public Procurement (Klagenævnet for Udbud) within 45 calendar days from the day after the contractor published a notice in the Official Journal on the conclusion of a contract.
