Purchase of a Windcube — Vertical profiler Lidar. The Windcube is specially designed for long-term, autonomous, low maintenance operation in harsh conditions.

Must have the following technical specifications for a pulsed heterodyne wind lidar for low temperature Arctic conditions (Villum Research Station).

These three cardinal requirements (no moving parts, low power consumption and 1.5 µm coherent fiber wind Lidar) only one off-the-shelf wind lidar is, to the best of our knowledge, commercially available — being the Windcube developed by Leosphere.

- absence of competition for technical reasons

Explanation:

There is only one given the requirements, featuring no moving parts and having a long and appropriate track record must be considered as relevant for VRS. We focus on 1.5 µm optical fiber based coherent wind Lidar systems which correspond to the most mature technology.
