RTDS Technologies Inc. is the exclusive developer and supplier of the Real Time Digital Simulator and its latest generation hardware, NovaCor 2.0. NovaCor 2.0 does not contain any third-party hardware/software, is custom-designed, and as such, they are the only possible supplier of the components and services required to install, commission, maintain and upgrade the RTDS Simulator hardware and software. This project involves installation and commissioning of an RTDS Simulator at Aalborg University, which is provided only by RTDS Technologies. For large system simulations with a sampling resolution of 25 nanoseconds, RTDS is the only supplier with its unique hardware that can enable real-time simulations of multiple components at a system level with highest precision. This is important as the SAFEr Grid’s ambitious goals is primarily dependent on scalability testing. The real-time recipe from RTDS complements the project ambitions of SAFEr Grid quite well based on the scalability of test models and interoperability with linear amplifiers. It is important to have the real time simulator platform compatibility with RWTH Aachen (project partner) for a successful demonstration.
