Procedure
Title Linser til røntgenstråling/diamondoptics
Description DTU is acquiring, from Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, 2D diamond compound refractive lenses to focus the hard X-ray beam at the DanMAC beamline. The lenses must focus the beam to sizes of less than 3 µm (FWHM) in the photon energy range 15-35 keV. The packaging of the lenses must be configured in predefined sets and be very compact to allow easy handling and to fit them in near the sample position. The lens sets must each have a phase corrector (also made from diamond) to correct for aberrations in the lenses. The lens sets must be have alignment features to facilitate easy alignment in the X-ray beam. A pinhole mounted in a similar holder is also included in this procurement. The lenses from DESY are specifically designed to be highly compact as the individual lenses are mounted together in a common holder. Each holder can hold up to 20 lenses within an envelope comparable with just 3 lenses of the conventional design. This compact design is highly advantageous to fit the CRLs in near the sample position. The DESY design is further incorporating a phase corrector plate in diamond. This phase plate is correcting unavoidable aberations from the lenses, and required for the microfocus application at the DanMAX beamline. The lenses from other suppliers cannot be delivered with a phase correction plate.
