Acquisition of a “timsTOF (UHR-TIMS-Q-TOF)” to Dept. Plant and Environmental Sciences

II.1.2) Main CPV code
38433100
II.1.3) Type of contract
Supplies
II.1.4) Short description:

A high performance mass spectrometer, which will deliver the acquisition rates and sensitivity required to unravel the complexity and large dynamic range of the plant proteome its sub-proteomes.

A timsTOF mass spectrometer (trapped ion mobility spectrometry coupled to quadrupole time of flight). This is providing high resolution by implementing novel ion mobility based module and high sensitivity by the TIMS and with the possibility to acquire a PASEF (parallel accumulation serial fragmentation) module in the future. PASEF provides an estimated 10-fold gain in sequencing speed without compromising sensitivity and unparalleled proteome coverage using small sample amounts.

II.1.6) Information about lots
This contract is divided into lots: no
II.1.7) Total value of the procurement (excluding VAT)
Value excluding VAT: 3 738 850.00 DKK

Section IV: Procedure

IV.1) Description
IV.1.1) Type of procedure
Award of a contract without prior publication of a call for competition in the Official Journal of the European Union in the cases listed below
  • The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the directive
Explanation:

Bruker is the only provider of a software platform that can allow us to combine NMR data with high resolution MS data. This allows for unambiguous structure verification with Bruker FUSION-SV, fully integrating HRAM-MS and NMR data for increased specificity. The number of Bruker NMR systems at Copenhagen University is currently 10+ increasing the relevance for such possibility.

TIMS (ion mobility) resolution with imeX™ (for the separation of critical peptides pairs, isomers and small molecule ID research):

200.

Reproducibility of CCS value determination (for the enhanced confidence in identification of molecules):

<0,5 % RSD.

Resolution: (For maximum data quality in the full peptide/protein mass range).

50 000 FSR (full sensitivity resolution) @ 1222 m/z

TimsTOF open data format (for the flexibility in use with existing workflows and development of in-house proteomics workflows)*.TDF data format.

Future possibility: acquisition rate (for maximum ID of proteins in complex samples, highest throughput /shortest gradients without ID# compromise and highest sensitivity with lowest possible sample loadings (<200ng), for improving robustness).

>100 Hz in PASEF mode.
