NUTS code: SE110
Main site or place of performance:

Stockholm, KTH Campus.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

The laser physics group is specialized in nonlinear optics as well as THz physics, where a fem to second laser amplification system often plays a key role as an optical input. Our current system has been running for 14 years in our lab, and now we are in the process of purchasing a new laser amplification system which will be delivered in July this year. Before the new system arrives, we must reconfigure our laboratory and extend the area of the optical tables (before July) so that the new laser system can be accommodated. The new optical tables as extensions will be combined with the current optical tables so that the laser pulses can be shared in experimental setups on different optical tables. In this case, the connected tables must function as “one system” with a correct alignment of their vibration isolators. Therefore, the compatibility is crucial for their assembly.

II.2.5) Award criteria
II.2.11) Information about options

Section IV: Procedure

IV.1) Description
IV.1.1) Type of procedure
Award of a contract without prior publication of a call for competition in the Official Journal of the European Union in the cases listed below
  • The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the directive
Explanation:

The contract includes 2 new optical tables and their connection to our current optical tables. The new tables are an extension to our current setup where the compatibility is absolutely crucial for their assembly. A connection between the optical tables requires a sensitive alignment of vibration isolators to quickly damp the disturbance. If each table (and the service) is from different suppliers, the performance of the connected products cannot be guaranteed, which can affect our experiments permanently in the future. To avoid such complications, we choose the same supplier that has previously provided our current optical tables.
