II.2.2) Additional CPV code(s)
II.2.3) Place of performance
NUTS code: DK
II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

The department of Biosciences, Aarhus University, carries out research and re-search-based education and advice on all biological levels from genes, physiological processes, individuals, populations and species to entire ecosystems. The department has state-of-the art research infrastructure, including analytical laboratories equipped to analyse environmental samples (soil, water, plants and animals). The ICP-OES/IC system we want to purchase will be used for elemental analysis (metals, etc.) as well as anions in environmental samples. These analyses are a basic requirement for several of the research questions that we are working with at Biosceince.

The ICP-OES and IC System we want to purchase must fulfil the following requirements:

— the system must be a complete system with integrated cooling, a high capacity autosampler with four racks, and system control via specialised software and PC.

— the system should use a simultaneous, not sequential technology for element detection/quantification for fastest analysis and gas consumption.

— the plasma viewing system should provide both axial and radial torch views.

— the detector must be of the type ‘Charge Injection Device’, CID type, with a wavelength coverage of minimum 166-847 nm and ‘Full frame image capacity.

— the system must have a mass flow controller (MFC) on the nebulizer gas for maximum stability of the gasflow over time.

— the system must contain an integrated 4-channel peristaltic pump to feed the spray chamber.

— an autosampler with a minimum capacity of 360 samples.

— software capable of controlling the IC system for in-line speciation of elements prior to analysis by ICP-OES.

— an Ion Chromatograph (IC) for quantification of inorganic and organic anions I water samples and in-line speciation of for example Cr3+ and Cr6+ prior to ICP-OES analysis.

— the IC system, complete with pump, thermostat for columns, suppressor, EC detector, autosampler and software.

— possibility for High Pressure Ion Chromatography, HPIC ved 5 000 PSI

— possibility for application of 2 mm columns to 5000 psi (must be included).

— possibility for applying electrolytic self-regulating suppressor (must be in-cluded)

— thermostated EC detector with auto-ranging

— autosampler with min 120 sample capacity for samples in standard vials with lids.

— Chromeleon software is a requirement as it must be able to transfer/exchange results and methods with already available equipment at the department using this software.

— if must be possible to fully integrate the IC system with the ICP-OES system, i.e. the IC system can be controlled by the ICP/OES software. The IC system must be able to integrate with the ICP/OES for inline speciation of Chrom (Cr3+ and Cr6+) prior to ICP/OES analysis.

— training in use of the equipment must be included

Only one supplier can deliver both ICP-OES and IC, and only this supplier can deliver both platforms as fully integrated solution.

Concludingly, only one supplier fulfils the above-mentioned requirements and can deliver a fully integrated ICP-OIES/IC analytical solution for quantification and speciation of elements. In addition, we need to be able to transfer protocols, methods and data between the equipment’s. This system fulfils these requirements.

II.2.5) Award criteria
II.2.11) Information about options
Options: no
II.2.13) Information about European Union funds
The procurement is related to a project and/or programme financed by European Union funds: no
