Market dialogue (RFI): Rail break detection system
Rail Net Denmark (RND) are currently upgrading the signalling systems on the entire national Danish railway network (2200 km) to ERTMS and CBTC where train detection is realized by axle counters instead of track circuits. When the signalling system is upgraded to ERTMS and CBTC it will no longer be possible to detect rail breaks using the conventional way as Rail Net Denmark has done so far. A result of upgrading the signalling system is that Rail Net Denmark needs to identify a new technology or way to detect rail breaks in the future. It is known that a lot of different technologies / systems is under development for this issue, but to get a better basis for decision, RND would like to get input from the market on potential solutions to the problem. This market dialogue precedes a possible tender on a rail break detection system. The purpose of the market dialogue is that Rail Net Denmark learn more about the technologies / systems which are available on the market or under development.
On this background Rail Net Denmark would like to invite your company to participate in a market dialogue (RFI / request for information) regarding possible systems that can fulfill the preliminary requirement in order for Rail Net Denmark to be able make an informed decision on whether a procurement/tender should be initiated. Rail Net Denmark wishes to use this market dialogue to get insight into:
1) what kind of technologies / systems are available on the marked or under development and the solution range of these technologies / systems;
2) how can a contract on these services be made attractive to possible suppliers. At this stage, we are interested in all possible solutions; commercially ready solutions, products under development, and ideas for R and D collaboration.
The marked dialogue will be carried out in writing and consists of three documents Cover letter, Preliminary requirement specification, and Question document. All tree documents are accessible via this link: https://banedktenderplan.tricommerce.dk/#/list/incoming/details/BDK00140
Alternatively, the documents are available on www.uk.banedanmark.dk > Supplier > Procurement, Tender, Invoicing > Tender Plan > Future.
If you are interested in attending this marked dialogue you should answer the Question document and return it to Rail Net Denmark no later than 17.8.2018.
