Acquisition of a cryostat at 4K with 5/3T magnet
The Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen intends to purchase a closed-cycle cryostat to implement quantum optical experiments.
The Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen intends to purchase a closed-cycle cryostat to implement quantum optical experiments. These experiments require stability on the nanometer scale, a 2-axis magnetic field for the preparation of the quantum state and temperatures at 4K to freeze out decoherence processes.
The contracting institution is the Quantum Photonics Group, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen.
Section IV: Procedure
- The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
- absence of competition for technical reasons
For spin manipulation in our quantum dots systems, cryostats with several magnetic axis are required.
This flexibility in the orientation of the magnetic field allows flexibility in the possible regime of operation of the quantum dots. Moreover, fields of several Teslas are usually required to achieve good operations.
Additionally, a sampled cooled to low temperatures such as 4 K helps to get high coherence of the system for efficient quantum information protocols.
Finally, the experiments require some high stability against mechanical vibrations and drift (below 20 nm), and high resolutions stages to travel on the sample.
The cryostat designed and marketed by Attocube is the only one which offers 2-axis magnetic field, 4 K temperature, below 20 nm vibration noise, combined with high resolution stages and the possibility of quickly exchanging samples.
