II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

The Covaris LE220-plus is a state-of-the-art DNA fragmentation solution and stands out by enabling high throughput processing of up to 96 samples at the time. This is crucial for the work planned in the HoloFood project where > 40 000 samples will be processed.

The contracting institution is the Section for EvoGenomics, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen. The section is run by Prof. Tom Gilbert and generally performs a wide range of research applying the newest technologies for molecularomics studies. Work includes large scale applied projects with close industry collaborations where extremely high throughput and accuracy is required for the molecular analyses.
