    • absence of competition for technical reasons
Explanation:

The adaptive illumination package exclusively provided by Abberior (resCUE, dyMIN) the Abberior STED microscope limits the light exposure to live cells by only turning the high intensity laser on when the confocal signal is above a defined threshold. This approach is essential to be able to make measurements of live cells over sustained time periods. The STED microscope must also be able to deliver 30 nm resolution on fluorescent beads, which is only possible on the Abberior microscope.
