II.1.4) Short description:

Aarhus University wants to Upgrade current orbitrap instrument with an integrated LC setup and acquisition of a hybrid high-resolution instrument with multiple fragmentation techniques and msn capability.

The instrument will be used for protein research with a focus on protein characterization and proteomics including quantitative analysis.

Any upgraded of our current instrument is only available through one supplier. There is only one supplier of the orbitrap technology (patented).

The combination of fragmentation techniques, MS3 and the high resolution essential for 10-plex is only available in the thermo scientific triband instruments (Fusion models) Current infrastructure rely on orbitrap data format (Proteome Discoverer).

Aarhus University wants to upgrade current orbitrap instrument with an integrated LC setup and acquisition of a hybrid high-resolution instrument with multiple fragmentation techniques and msn capability.

The instrument will be used for protein research with a focus on protein characterization and proteomics including quantitative analysis Kravspecifikation:

Upgrading of current orbitrap (QE+) setup to increase sensitivity and speed (changing the orbitrap analyser to newest compatible version) acquisition of an instrument with following specifications:

— high-resolution instrument with HCD, ETD and CID fragmentation (resolution 500,000 FWHM),

— high accuracy (< 3 ppm),

— MS3 capability with all fragmentation techniques,

— must be able to analysis isobaric tags (up to 10 plex) and use MS3 for quantification (multinotch fragmentation),

— integrated LC,

— fully compatible with current infrastructure including Proteome discoverer (orbitrap data format) and skyline.
