The inverted lattice light sheet microscope is a novel system protected by exclusive rights. It has unique functions (see below). Carls Zeiss is the sole producer of the equipment and Carl Zeiss AB the only distributor for sales to Sweden.
The inverted lattice light sheet microscope have the following functions and minimal specifications:
— complete inverted lattice light sheet microscope system optimized for live cell imaging,
— sample and optics need to be physically separated (coverslip) to avoid sample/optics contamination,
— samples prepared on standard coverslips #1,5,
— system compatible with standard sample carriers slides/coverslips, glass-bottom culture dishes (e.g. 35 mm), chamber slides, multiwell plates (6, 12, 24, …, 96, 384, 1096 wells),
— sample positioning and alignment fully motorized,
— motorized dispenser of immersion media for long time lapse recordings,
— environment control (C02, humidity and temperature) of sample chamber. Ports for perfusion in sample chamber,
— volume speed at least 2,5 Vol/s @ 300 μm x 50 μm x 20 μm,
— single plane speed at least 400 fps @ 300 μm x 20 μm,
— equipped with lasers for 488, 561, and 640 nm illumination and fast sequential multi-color imaging,
— fast switching of illumination beams (colors) within μ-seconds.,
— selection of specific light sheets via software (no direct physical interaction with hardware for alignment),
— optical system adjustment fully motorized and SW supported, no direct user interaction with hardware for adjustment required,
— control and recording computer system that can sustain a data rate permitting full speed recording for 1 h and time lapse imaging of 2 volumes/second for up to 24 hrs.
