II.2.4)
Description of the procurement:
The cryostat is intended to be integrated with an experimental setup placed on an optical table, containing the excitation laser and photon detectors. For compatibility with our experimental setup, the system should focus the excitation laser onto the cryogenically cooled sample and deliver a collimated stream of fluorescent photons back to the experimental setup. Achieving as strong a signal as possible is imperative, by using a high numerical aperture objective for photon collection. For locating isolated molecules on the sample surface, by fluorescence mapping, the system must allow for fine resolution translational scanning of the sample underneath the objective, and vertical sample movement for optimizing focus. The intended experimental measurements to be performed using the optical cryostat is: lifetime measurements, autocorrelation measurements, resonant fluorescence line scans and Hong-ou-mandel measurements.
