Market and Meterdata Management Solution for VISUE
VISUE A/S is established and owned by a number of distribution system operators (DSO) in Denmark, which in total represent 1 500 000 electricity customers. VISUE was established in 2011 and is today providing shared services (SCADA and IT security services) for the involved partners.
The purpose of this notice is getting into dialogue with relevant IT suppliers regarding best practice and feedback for the coming tender and contracting process. The contract will involve joint and efficient handling of the:
1) Customer master data
System 1: DSO DataHub Management System (DHM).
2) Market and business processes
System 2: DataHub Service (DHS).
3) Hourly meter data of approx. 1 000 000 customers (1 500 000 or more in the longer term)
System 3: Meter Data Management (MDM).
4. Integration between DHM, MDM and DHS
System 4: The integration platform is handling all communication between the DSO’s internal systems (ERP, GIS etc.) and the DHM, MDM and DHS.
VISUE is established and owned by a number of distribution system operators (DSO) in Denmark, which in total represent 1 500 000 electricity customers. VISUE was established in 2011 and is today providing shared services (SCADA and IT security services) for the involved partners.
With the introduction of a DataHub and a supplier centric model in Denmark, the responsibility of the DSOs has changed significantly with an increased focus on consolidation, harmonization and digitalization. Today the partners in Visue have their own IT systems and internal business processes for handling all market communication towards the market. In addition the processes and IT systems are not focused on what has become the main focus for the DSO, which is to maintain a high security of supply, to support the market development on the Danish retail electricity market (with data and insights) and to be able to operate an efficient business towards the customers.
For this specific contract VISUE wants to purchase a joint solution to handle all processes and market communication in the Danish electricity market (towards DataHub) and to ensure integration with the existing IT landscape of the partners in Visue. At the moment 6 DSOs are involved in the project, but the vision for the project is that the solution will be the market standard going forward involving the remaining companies of Visue and new external parties as well.
The purpose of this notice is getting into dialogue with relevant IT suppliers regarding best practice and feedback for the coming tender and contracting process. The contract will involve joint and efficient handling of the:
Customer master data
System 1: DSO DataHub Management System (DHM). The DHM system will be the owner of all DSO customer related master data tying the domain model of the joint systems together with the DSO internal domain model. The DHM must support the communication with external electricians (www.InstallationsBlanket.dk). The system should aim to support an increased efficiency around customer handling e.g. focus on user friendliness and lowering complexity.
Market and business processes
System 2: DataHub Service (DHS). The DHS must handle all market communication with the Datahub. Business processes in terms of communicating with the DataHub are standardized and regulated by Energinet (https://en.energinet.dk/-/media/766BA4767A984D1EA57C6A75315F04B8.pdf). The actual invoicing of electricity suppliers (wholesale) and customers (price elements not handled by the DataHub) will be handled by the involved DSOs own internal platforms, but the system should provide the needed tools to validate that the exchange of aggregations (sum of meter data and prices) for market settlement are correct.
Hourly meter data of approx. 1 000 000 customers (1 500 000 or more in the longer term)
System 3: Meter Data Management (MDM). The MDM must be a standard solution and should handle all meter data and related processes (validation, estimation and editing). The system should be independent of meter supplier and support an increasing need for data analysis and insight.
Integration between DHM, MDM and DHS
System 4. The integration platform is handling all communication between the DSO’s internal systems (ERP, GIS etc.) and the DHM, MDM and DHS and is making sure that data is only owned by one system.
VISUE has defined a solution architecture with the overall purpose to support targeted individual professional systems (DHM, MDM, DHS) and to have an integration platform to create the necessary loose coupling between them.
It is the intention to engage with potential suppliers from the industry to better understand the market potential for providing the described services and systems. VISUE plans to arrange supplier engagement sessions in February/March 2020. Details of the engagement sessions will be issued with the tender material for the subsequent tender process.
The purpose of the sessions are to provide VISUE with the opportunity to gain feedback from the market on the above specified.
If you are interested in having an engagement session, please express an interest by e-mail using the email address in Section 1 above, no later than 10.2.2020.
