The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) is preparing a tender regarding the acquisition of fire fighting vehicle to support live firing exercises. However, as part of the preparation, DALO would like to gather information regarding the current market of fire fighting vehicle in connection with structuring the future tender. The purpose of this request for information is to understand how the best possible tender and contract can be arranged both for the Danish Defence and for the suppliers.

DALO is planning to purchase fire fighting vehicle consisting of a firefighting module and the chassis. The expected volume is initially eight vehicles with the possibility to increase.

The vehicles DALO is seeking to replace is used during live firing exercises where the terrain easily can catch on fire in the summer. It is important for DALO that the vehicles have the necessary terrain capability since they will be used in terrain with sandy hills and uneven ground. Because the vehicles are used during shooting exercises it is important that the fire can be stopped as fast as possible so the training can continue.

This has so far been done using the Armoured Personnel Carrier M113 in a fire fighting configuration which now is nearing end of service.

DALO is interested in knowing what already implemented solutions exist on the marked that can fulfil the purpose. It could either be a tracked or wheeled based vehicle solution as long it has sufficient terrain capabilities. Furthermore DALO would also be interested to know if there is an option for protection of the vehicle, if the fire truck may be operating in terrain with UXO (un exploded ammunition).
