Rutronik presents new low vibration fans from Delta Electronics for rack servers

The new low vibration fans from Delta Electronics are especially developed for the 19’’ slide-in (1U) server market. They address the three typical problem areas of modern high-performance boards: air flow, vibration and energy consumption. By balancing the propellers both on the outer and inner edges, the fan vibrations, which are especially problematic for hard drives, are reduced up to 40 - 50 percent. The new fans are available at distributor Rutronik now.

The standard fan from the FFB series in dimensions of 40x40x28mm (width height x depth) is for Slide-In servers. The GFB series in sizes 40x40x48mm and 40x40x56mm for particularly hot processors provides a fan solution with two propeller units attached in series behind one another. Both units are
separated by a stator and run in opposite directions. The stator smoothes the swirling air coming out of the first fan and guides it precisely into the second. This approach improves the overall pressure, the air flow, and the degree of efficiency significantly compared with normal fans that are mounted behind one another. For lower rack temperatures, the number of revolutions of both propellers can be reduced without letting the air flow fall below a critical level. This reduces vibrations as well as background noise. It is also possible to optionally disable one of the propellers - if the first propeller stops, the second automatically assumes its role redundantly.

All product information stated in the current press release is based on the franchise situation in Germany. Country specific variations may therefore be possible.
