Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position
As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be part of Eltronic FuelTechs Mechanical Engineering team, with focus on design, strength verification and specification according to relevant codes of both high- and low-pressure equipment for the maritime industry.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key part of defining the technical solutions of our products from an engineering perspective while assisting in structuring the methods and processes used in the department.
Your primary work areas could include:
- Being a key knowledge contributor to the team regarding pressurized equipment, process piping, FEA, fluid dynamics,
- Mechanical vibrations and thermodynamics.
- Structural design according to relevant codes and rules using Ansys and analytical calculations.
- Coordination of the 3D CAD design with the Construction team.
- Optimization of methods and continuously keeping ajour with relevant codes (Marine & structural)
- Assisting in the concept phase of new products from an engineering perspective.
- Cross-disciplinary work within R&D, Operations, sales, and service.
- Assist in testing of prototypes in our R&D testing area or in the production of new products.
- Proactively seeking feedback from the production, service and sales to continuously improve our product portfolio and keep
- Eltronic Fueltech in a leading market position.
Examples of tasks could be:
- Analyse and optimize the piping system for a Fuel Valve Train and find the most efficient path for the piping in order to reduce pressure loss and the effect of thermal expansion, while maintaining an acceptable pipe stress.
- Apply the ASME BPVC VIII Division 2 methods in FEA.
- Performing FE analysis f.x verifying bolted connections and weldments during lifting.
- Calculate temperature/Pressure drop across components.
- Optimization of models and assumptions to optimize time spend vs product cost.
- Find elegant and cost-effective retrofit solutions to adapt product to specific customer needs.
The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager of FuelTech, and you will have your own office space at our headquarters in Hedensted.
Your everyday work will vary with tasks and projects of different nature and sizes. You will be part of a professional, strong, and committed team with high moral, who is always ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Professional qualifications
You have 5 – 10 years of experience as Mechanical Engineer or of equivalent relevant education.
You have experience in strength assessment and analyses of process piping, preferably using Autopipe, and pressure vessels according to ASME or equivalent EN standard, along with experience in FEA, preferably using Ansys, and can perform analytical calculations according to code.
You are fluent in spoken and written English, possess good IT skills, and in addition, have a good mechanical understanding.
