  • The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
    • absence of competition for technical reasons
Explanation:

Aarhus University wants to buy a MALS detector to support the leading research on protein aggregation, polysaccharide characterization, and biopolymers for packaging. The equipment purpose is to support the leading research carried out in the Food Department related to protein structure function, gelation, ingredients technology and food packaging. The researchers are familiar with light scattering and the characterization of macromolecules and are aware of the available options on the market and participated in numerous seminars to update themselves of the options from all commercial offers. The Wyatt system is the only offering that responds to the specifications outlined above. In brief, the detector can cover sizes between 10-500 nm. Wyatt also offers a system that can be fully integrated with a RI detector all able to be operated from the ASTRA™ software.

After researching all the available options, we have concluded that the Wyatt system is the only equipment fitting the purpose of our research.
