Open procedure for purchase of Plasma-cleaner for sample preparation related to Transmission Electron Microscopy

| Opgavebeskrivelse | This purchase concerns a plasmacleaner for removal of organic contaminants from TEM-samples within the sphere of hard/inorganic materials. It will be part of the standard sample preparation procedure and installed next to the appropriate TEM-microscope at iNANO. The purchase is motivated by the necessity of clean samples in order to resolve and observe fine details in HR-TEM and HR-STEM micrography, and also to avoid unwanted absorption of X-rays in the carbonaceous contaminants during X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), thus improving the signal-to-noise ratio of such measurements. The users of the plasmacleaner will be the same as those operating the TEM-microscope, i.e. permanent staff as well as students. All users are required to be trained to a super-user level. |
