The existing monitoring and control software for DR Byens Satellite Platform consists of a basic monitoring system based on Visionic/Intorel and a quite intelligent and complex control system developed by Hiltron GmbH, called HMCS. The HMCS system includes dialog pop-up windows for channel selection, transmission line-up, satellite databases, customer specific rules etc.

DR wants to integrate the monitoring part of the system into the HMCS system, in order to simplify the total system and make it more flexible and scalable. The existing connections of all satellite units to the DR network must be maintained. Also, all functionalities in the existing HMCS system must be maintained, since they are well-functioning and fully accepted by the operators in DR Byens Master Control Room.
