Portable Gas Exchange Fluorescence System
The research in the group plant food and climate department of food is focused on the understanding on how planter react to complex reactions to climate conditions such as temperature, light, humidity, so we need an advanced IRGA system with fully automated control of climate allowing us to program measurements for photosynthesis responses in lab/greenhouse/field combined with full range of chlorophyll fluorescence measurements.
Gas exchange fluorescence system for parallel measurements of CO2 and H2O gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence under controlled conditions for leaf areas up to 8 cm2 but also with the option of using an O2 unit for measuring O2 level in connection with the measurements. The system should be semiportable with a control unit with integrated PC module, but optionally an external PC. The 4-channel CO2/H2O gas analyzer (0...3 000 ppm CO2 and 0...7 5000 ppm H2O), flow control (300...1 400 μmol s-1), CO2 control (0...2 000 ppm CO2, supply via cartridges or cylinders) and H2O control (0...99 % rh, for drying and humidifying). It should be equipped with a measuring head (with temperature control (10 degree below ambient to +50 oC), detachable electronics box; upper and lower cuvette halves pneumatically separated with one impeller, temperature sensor and PAR sensor for each half; Includes sensors for leaf temperature (thermocouple), ambient temperature and external PAR.
LED-Array/PAM-Fluorometer consisting of red/blue LED-array for measuring light, actinic light (0...ca. 2 500 μmol m-2 s-1 PAR) and saturation pulses (up to 8 000 μmol m-2 s-1PAR) as well as far-red light and photodiode detectors. It allows for parallel measurements of gas exchange and chlorophyll and needs to be fully programmable. The unit needs to be compatible with existing equipment (batteries, power chargers, software).
Section IV: Procedure
- The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
- absence of competition for technical reasons
The market for gas exchange systems (IRGA) is limited to a few players. We have current equipment from Walz, PPsystem and have tested old and newer Licors with our collaborators. The newer versions from PPSystems does not perform well in our opinion.
We have been asking for specs specially from these players in the market, and have only received response from some of these. The information we had showed that only the Walz GFS3000 had the full range of performance for us. Therefor the instrument from Walz Instruments are the one that is by far the most suitable for our research.

In case of complaints about tenders or decisions, e.g. award of contracts covered by Section II or III in the Danish Public Procurement Act must be submitted to the Complaints Board for Public Procurement (Klagenævnet for udbud) within 45 calendar days from the day after the contractor published a notice in the Official Journal on the conclusion of a contract. At the latest concurrently with submission of an appeal to the Complaints Board for Public Procurement, the complainant must inform the contracting authority of the alleged infringement, and whether the appeal is to be referred to the board.
